We are deeply saddened by the passing of Bill Thompson, a legendary figure in the industry, a colleague, a fellow MPC Board Member, a mentor, a friend, and a true gentleman. Bill's remarkable 50-year career in the film business was marked by significant contributions that extended beyond his impressive resume. He was an educator, a confidant, a leader, and played a pivotal role in philanthropy. Bill's legacy and presence will never be forgotten, and he will always remain an honorable Trustee on The Motion Picture Club Board. It was his wish that our Club continue and remain relevant for years to come, and we are committed to honoring that wish.

 

At our 2022 MPC annual luncheon, we had the great honor of presenting Bill with the MPC Lifetime Achievement Award. We are proud to announce that the award will be renamed "The William R. Thompson Lifetime Achievement Award" in his honor.
