Mike Polydoros brings more than 45 years of industry experience to his role as CEO and Co‑Founder of PaperAirplane Media, North America’s leading cinema marketing agency. Co‑founded with Will Preuss, PaperAirplane introduced a first‑of‑its‑kind model that unites exhibitors, studios, and marketplace partners through a fully integrated, one‑stop solution for cinema‑channel and in‑theatre marketing.

 

In just over five years, PaperAirplane Media has emerged as one of the theatrical industry’s most trusted and relied‑upon partners. The company provides the technology and marketing infrastructure that enables studios, exhibitors, and content partners to deliver, manage, and scale film campaigns across North America and into rapidly expanding global markets. Through a suite of proprietary platforms and audience‑driven marketing programs, PaperAirplane supports both major studios and rising distributors as they navigate an evolving theatrical ecosystem. Today, the company collaborates with virtually every studio, exhibitor, and theatrical content partner in the region.

 

Prior to founding PaperAirplane, Mike spent 23 years at Lionsgate as Executive Vice President of Theatrical Distribution Operations and In‑Theatre Marketing, playing a key leadership role during decades of major studio growth and industry change.

 

Mike currently serves on the board of Southern California Variety Children’s Charity and as a Trustee of The Will Rogers Motion Picture Pioneers Foundation. He has also held roles as Chairman and President of the Southern California Variety Children’s Charity. His professional honors include the ShowEast Al Shapiro Award (2013), multiple panel appearances at ShowEast and ShoWest (1993–2003), and a 1997 guest contribution to Film Journal on in‑theatre marketing.

 

Mike lives in Woodland Hills, California, with his wife, Lisa, with whom he celebrates 30 years of marriage this November. They enjoy traveling and spending time with their two children: Emily, currently a sophomore at Arizona State University, and Nick, who is also part of the PaperAirplane team.
